|An indiepop night on a steam train! - nr Derby, Sat 28th April
||[Jan. 25th, 2007|09:48 am]
... we (Offbeat Sheffield) are DJing at this wonderfully twee event in April - quite a way ahead I know, but tickets are apparantly selling VERY fast so you might want to buy now if you want to go... brief details below, more at http://www.myspace.com/indietracks|
Indie Tracks - an indiepop night with a difference - live bands and dancing aboard a 1950s steam train!
at the Midland Railway Butterley, Ripley, Derbyshire
Our train contains a fully stocked bar and disco carriage, with music fed through all the carriages.
Join us for our first departure on Saturday 28th April, with two live bands playing in the station:
Pocketbooks - "Pocketbooks are jangly indie, undeniably fey and all glockenspiels, hand claps and boy/girl harmonies - general brilliant ye olde indiepop you don't hear enough of nowadays." (November 2006 - Tasty Fanzine)
Tottie -the simplicity of acoustic guitar well compliments her frank and open lyrics on life, love and the often over looked problems had by nice boys getting into clubs. One to watch for 2007.
Guest DJs on board the train:
Spiral Scratch (London)
Tasty Fanzine (Nottingham)
Tickets are £8 advance from www.wegottickets.com/event/15019 / or £10 on the door, including train fare.
