What have you all been listening to this summer? [Sep. 17th, 2007|03:25 pm]
We've been enjoying Late of the Pier, Kotki Dwa, the School, the Ting Tings, The Go! Team, Animal Collective and Asobi Seksu amongst many - but who've been your favourites this summer? Which new bands (and old favourites) do you hope to hear played at Offbeat this Autumn?

Pony Up!, Asobi Seksu, Both the albums from Broken Social Scene members Feist & Kevin Drew, Strange Death Of Liberal England, Jakobinarina, Silversun Pickups (play alongside Veruca Salt I reckon!) and new Rilo Kiley stuff.
I'm very into The Wombats as well, but noone else seems to like them!

The best album of the summer, however, by a long long way is Lethal Bizzle, but I'm not sure that is Offbeat fare. I dunno, its alot more Punk than anything I've heard for a very long time. Its amazing. I'd dance to it!

Yes, I think I might find some space for a bit of Lethal Bizzle. I want to play that 'Lets Dance to Joy Division' track by The Wombats too - me and Chris can't decide whether it's 'Offbeat' enough, but that chorus is soooooo catchy!
